The National Capital to observe another week of lockdown, says CM Arvind Kejriwal. The lockdown will stay in implementation till 5A.M. on 31st May. For the first time since second wave, the state has recorded less than 2500 cases in 24 hours. Also the fatalities have been decreased to 182 deaths in last 24 hours. He further said, “Lockdown is required so that the gains made after much struggle are not lost”.
The lockdown began last month when the COVID-19 cases were highly rising in the state, the medical structure was not able to cope up with the situation and thousands of people lost their lives due to COVID-19. The state has reported the current positivity rate below 2.5%, whereas it was 35% in the beginning of second wave of COVID-19.
The state authorities are making sure to vaccinate people in the shortest possible time. They are trying the best possible ways to vaccinate all the residents within a time span of 3 months. Also, the state is making all possible arrangements to face the third wave.
If the COVID-19 cases and the positivity rate keeps on declining then the state will begin with the unlock procedure in a phased manner, said CM Arvind Kejriwal.
